• AR Commonsとは、21世紀社会の情報・テクノロジー環境に適合した、新たな学術研究、生活提案を実現するプラッ トフォームとして、AR（Augmented Reality）技術を快適に利用するための多次元的空間活用を促進する非営利の任意団体 である。
• 当組織の本部は日本国東京に置くものとし、本部の名称はAR Commons、日本支部としての名称をAR Commons Japanと定める。
• AR Commonsを短縮して表記する際はARCとする。

Principles:
インターネットは、民主社会を実現するためのコミュニケーショ ン・ツールになり得るという基本理念に立ちかえり、ビジネス界、 文化機関、市民社会の異なる分野の担い手を結びつける創造的ネッ トワークと対話の形成・促進を実現するため、私たちはAR Commonsを設立し、可能な限り多くの人々と理念を共有することをここに宣言する。

1. AR Commonsは、AR空間における公共圏の定義を示す
2. AR Commonsは、AR技術によってもたらされる新たなライ フ・スタイルを提案する
3. AR Commonsは、AR技術によって起こるかも知れない多様な問題を予測し、その対処方法の検討を行う
4. AR Commonsは、AR空間において公共圏のサービスと見なされる活動に資するソーシャルデータベース構築を通じて、より良い AR環境整備に務める
5. AR Commonsは、AR空間に於ける権利処理の手法を検討し、コンテンツ流通環境の整備および活性化を支える技術開発を支援する

- AR Commons is a voluntary non-profit organization promoting the practical use and implementation of multidimensional information visualization with AR（Augmented Reality）technologies and serving as a platform for the realization of innovative areas in academic research and lifestyle solutions for the Information Technology environment of the 21st century.

- AR Commons, represented by the abbreviation ARC, is headquartered in
Tokyo, Japan.

Principles:

Reflecting upon the fundamental idea that the Internet is an essential communication tool for implementing universal access to information and ideas in our society, AR Commons aims to stimulate the development of an international community by encouraging dialogue and connecting creative individuals in business, cultural and government institutions. With the inauguration of AR Commons, it is our hope to share this goal with as many institutions, organizations and individuals as possible.

Mission:

The purposes and objectives of AR Commons are:

1. To define and facilitate the establishment of standards for public domain access for the AR environment
2. To offer new lifestyle solutions made possible by AR technologies.
3. To anticipate the challenges in AR technologies and to explore viable solutions.
4. To maintain and improve the public sphere of AR environment through the construction of a social database that contributes to service activities for increased public access and participation.
5. To investigate AR-related rights management methods and to support technology developments that sustain and stimulate content distribution.
6. To advise public institutions and private sector enterprises that seek to develop their services and business with AR technologies.
7. To develop innovative educational systems with an AR environment in order to inspire creativity and innovation among future generations.
